Karen A. Benz, M.S., of Benz Strategic Group has a focus on business consulting, organizational and human behavior, strategy and leadership development with an emphasis on improving individual and organizational performance. She has owned a training, coaching & consulting practice since 1996 working with clients in many industries including all types of for-profit organizations in professional services, technology and start-ups, trades, manufacturing, IT, finance, hospitality, government, education, health care, and non-profits. She is an Executive Coach/DISC Facilitator with BetterManager™ (San Francisco, CA) working with tech companies and start-ups in the Silicon Valley. She is also the co-founder and business consultant with Business Legacy Consulting, Inc. in the greater Boston area. Karen is a member of the mentoring team for the Middle Eastern Partnership Initiative at Roger Williams University. Additionally, Karen has partnered with Tina Walsh, Healer/Teacher/Speaker of Lighten-Up Wellness for “Travel with a Twist” – international professional development & yoga/meditation retreats for women. Their first joint ventures includes trips to Costa Rica in January of 2018 and the Greek Islands in June of 2018.
Her varied business career includes working in a large nonprofit medical facility as the Chief Operating Officer where she was responsible for the day-to-day operations and a staff of over 100. Her responsibilities included human resources, business operations, marketing and public relations, project management, facility planning and construction management, and community relations.
Karen is a graduate of Bryant College with a B.S. in Business Administration, as well as Salve Regina University with an M.S. in Management where she was a member of the Sigma Beta Delta Business Honor Society. In 2007, she completed the Odyssey Management Consulting Program held in Dublin, Ireland. As a follow-up to this program, she was certified in the Rubicon Leadership Training Program in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2009. Additionally, she graduated from Corporate Coach University (Executive Coaching Program) and has certifications in DISC, PIAV, Trimetrix, and DNA – all behavioral assessments from Target Training International. She has also earned a Certificate in Teaching and Learning Instructional Design.
Karen has a strong background in teaching and training. She has taught a variety of business courses at UMass Dartmouth, Providence College, the University of Rhode Island, and currently teaches “Enterprise” at Roger Williams University’s Gabelli School of Business.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce and the Foxboro (MA) Rotary Club.
